Experiment!
Experiment!
In this workshop you’ll learn how to document classroom experiments and share your findings via short ‘lab report’ films.
This simple approach can be used again and again as a supplement or alternative to written reports. Finally put your Virtual Learning Environment to good use with a constant stream of high-quality Science videos shot by students and teachers.
What you’ll learn:
- How to plan and storyboard a compelling film
- Pieces-to-camera and voice over
- Filming super slo-mo (1000 frames per second on a £300 camera!)
- Analysing and presenting data in your film
Why?
Video is the ideal medium for recording and reporting a wide range of experiments, and there are obvious benefits in terms of revision and efficient use of resources.
The Key Stage 3 Science Curriculum explicitly encourages the use of digital media as a means of communication in its guidance on How Science Works.

The workshop fits particularly well with:
- Key Stage 3 Science - How Science Works
- BTEC Science
- Key Stage 4 Science - 21st Century Science
