TV Presenter
This workshop shows you what to do whether you’re in front of or behind the camera.
Learn the basic building blocks of documentary film-making, which can then be applied to any topic.
Working in teams, students plan, set-up and film short interviews and ‘pieces-to-camera’ - learning invaluable craft skills and building their confidence as they go.
- The importance of clear sound recording
- Getting the most from available light
- What to say and where to look
- Positioning the camera - the 180 degree rule
Students work around a scientific topic, which can be something that they're already working on.
Why?
Science is a factual subject. The skills learned in this session equip students to present coursework in an exciting new format, which requires as much rigour and deep learning as text-based presentation.
Fit
The workshop fits particularly well with:
- Key Stage 3 Science - How Science Works
- BTEC Science
- Key Stage 4 Science - 21st Century Science
- BTEC Media Practice
